Dive into the latest gaming updates announced at Apple’s WWDC event, including the game-changing Game Mode for Mac and more.
In the latest 2023 Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple unveiled a series of innovative products and updates. At the forefront was the introduction of their new headset, the Vision Pro, retailing at $3,499 and slated to be released early next year.
Further releases include the 15-inch MacBook Air, the Mac Studio with M2 Max and M2 Ultra, and the Mac Pro with M2 Max and M2 Ultra. In addition, Apple disclosed upgrades to their software with the introduction of iOS 17 for iPhone, iPadOS 17 for iPad, macOS Sonoma for Mac, FaceTime for Apple TV, and watchOS 10.
The Vision Pro headset received a lukewarm reception. The headset’s feature that allows it to double as a Mac monitor was, however, highly applauded. Other functions of the headset mirror those of the iPhone such as messaging, FaceTime, and web browsing.
The latest software for Apple Watch, watchOS 10, was also revealed. New features include widgets accessible by rotating the digital crown, long-press to add a widget, full-screen displays, and new watch faces. Moreover, new workout APIs and health evaluation tools have been incorporated.
Apple TV users are in for a treat as FaceTime is coming to Apple TV. Users will be able to view FaceTime on their large screens while using their iPad or iPhone cameras. Additionally, the FindMy function will now support the location of lost Siri remotes.
Updates to Apple’s AirPods were also announced, including adaptive audio, blending transparency and noise cancellation to suit user environments for music listening and call taking.
The tech giant also revealed iOS 17 with significant changes to the iPhone. Updates to Phone, Facetime, and Messages apps were mentioned, including personalized contact posters, live transcription for voicemails, video messages in Facetime, and improved search functionality in Messages.
In summary, the Apple conference announced a plethora of advancements that are set to take user experience to the next level in the coming months.
